Extremely nice Cristian Gliga viola, made in Romania, anno 2003. Highly flamed back and ribs, straight-grained spruce top. Artfully carved scroll with deep fluting; Hill-style ebony pegs. Beautifully shaded varnish. Just set up in our workshop with a new Despiau bridge and Evah Pirazzi strings. There are a few places where the varnish has been compressed, but the color isn't scratched off. Apart from those extremely minor bruises, it's in excellent shape - never cracked. Full and even sound. With its high degree of figure in the wood, and its more decorative fittings, it's one of the nicest models in this series.
