A shop favorite! One of the most interesting and most incredible values to come into inventory recently, this modern, great-playing busetto flatback, ca. 1998, is certain to be discovered immediately by a bassist looking for a real asset. Don't miss it!
Very accessible in all positions due to the well-designed shoulders and ample overstand. New fingerboard, bridge, Robertson's C extension, and grafted neck (D neck). 42" string length. Excellent condition; recently inspected and earlier repairs revised. Upgraded back bracing seems to have been designed for maximum tone and stability. Deluxe Rubner tuning machines; hatpegs inlaid with a crest. Ball-bearing endpin clicks to position notches. Side bumpers. Ebony back decoration and several interesting carving details on the peg box and scroll. Though unlabelled, it appears to be Eastern European in origin. Fans of the legendary Prescott busetto design will find this an unbeatable way to get their hands on a bass with those desirable features without spending a fortune! Excellent response and tone; really a pleasure to play, powerful across all registers.
